Paws on the Ground
- POG offers emergency rescue, intervention and support for canines and their caretakers in the community
- Instead of focusing narrowly on animal rescue or waiting for community members to bring animals to a shelter, POG stresses proactive grassroots outreach to identify neighborhood needs and crises.
- Many Flathead Reservation and Lake County residents are isolated from the services they need due to poverty, rural isolation and cultural or socio-political factors.
- POG emphasizes community capacity building and networking by building collaborative partnerships with local entities and by building volunteer community response teams

HSUS Pets for Life Program
- POG looks forward to partnering with the Humane Society of the United States Pets for Life (PFL) program. PFL "reaches out to underserved communities to offer free pet care resources, services and information. PFL incorporates strategic door-to-door outreach, builds a consistent community presence and uses an extensive follow-up process to build relationships and trust within a segment of the pet-owning population that has largely gone untouched by animal service providers."
